Ronit Barkai Opportunity Fund
The Ronit Barkai Opportunity Fund is one part a fund raiser created by the incredible team at Transition House in Cambridge, MA, and another part an homage to a longtime member of the team in Ronit Barkai. In this video, former residents and employees discuss Ronit's contribution and legacy and wish her a happy retirement.
AMOR REESCRITO | LOVE REWRITTEN | Spring 2024
AMOR REESCRITO/LOVE REWRITTEN is the U.F.O. 2024 runway show. Like 2023, I was a stationary camera operator and assistant producer of the show. It was just as well executed as 2023, but working on it this time, I had a sense of preparedness and confidence in my own abilities that I lacked the previous year, resulting in an even better final product. All of the cast and crew that worked on this show poured their blood, sweat and tears into it, and I'm endlessly proud to have been a part of it.
THROUGH THE AURA | Spring 2023
THROUGH THE AURA is the Final Product of everything that I had worked on with the UMass Fashion Organization in 2022 and 2023. My role on this project was the "A Camera Operator." This project was incredibly humbling as it was the first time I had worked with a large crew and on a professional grade set.
Lost In Translation: Conversations In Style
One of the "teaser" videos for the UFO runway show, I worked as a second assistant on the project, where I was tasked with capturing stills and assisting with lighting and camera equipment.
Ordinary People: Beyond The Appearance
Another one of the supplementary teaser videos for UMass Fashion Organization, I once again acted as a production assistant, capturing behind the scenes footage and assisting with various equipment and technical problems on set.
Massachusetts Multicultural Film Festival 2023 - "Before After" Trailer.
The Trailer for The 2023 Massachusetts Multicultural Film Festival was the biggest project I ever worked on. This project took weeks and had me staying late and showing up early to the office, and the quality of the trailer reflects that. The trailer is a rundown of all film screenings and dates at the festival, a list of sponsors of the event, and a "sizzle" clip at the end.
Documentary Analysis/Production Final: “A Wedding Photo.”
"A Wedding Photo" was my first video essay and remains my favorite conceptually to this day. In it, a simple wedding photograph comes alive as each person in the photograph's story is told and examined within the historical context of Greece and North Macedonia's complicated history.
Film Writing and Criticism/New Media Final: “The Last Black Man in San Francisco Analysis.”
My final for my Criticism in Digital Media class, I examine one of my favorite Films, "The Last Black Man in San Francisco." In this video, I go over the themes and motifs of the film, and compare the Greek myth of Sisyphus to the struggle of the protagonist in the notoriously hilly city of San Francisco.
Y Tu Mama Tambien and Neorealism Video Essay.
"Y Tu Mama Tambien and Neorealism" is centered around the examination of the neorealist and quasi-documentary style of Alfonso Cuaron's "Y Tu Mama Tambien" (2001). I worked on this video as my final for a Film Auteurs class my senior year.
